Prove how good your site really is: Best Factory Awards 2012 open for entry

The race to find the UK's top manufacturing site is on as the Best Factory Awards 2012 officially open for entries.

The industry's Oscars will celebrate factories that showcase outstanding manufacturing excellence.
Thirteen category prizes are up for grabs, as well as the coveted overall prize of Factory of the Year.
Works Management (WM) editor Max Gosney challenged UK factory owners to "walk the walk" by entering the 2012 awards.
Gosney said: "You hear a lot of noise about the high quality of manufacturing standards at a particular company or site.
"I challenge those businesses to prove how good they really are by putting their name in the hat for the Best Factory Awards -- the ultimate manufacturing prize."
Categories up for grabs include People Management, Skills Development and Health & Safety at the awards run by Cranfield School of Management and WM.
All entrants will receive a benchmarking report from Cranfield School of Management.
Premier sites will then receive a visit from Cranfield's expert judging team.
Overall winners will be announced at a ballroom dinner at the Park Lane Hotel on 28 September.
The Best Factory Awards celebrate their 21st birthday this year, the oldest and most revered awards in the sector.
